American actor Aaron Eckhart revved up for the F1 GP

Eckhart, who is filming thriller I, Frankenstein in Melbourne alongside Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto and Bill Nighy, will take some time out to be guest of honour at Sunday's big race.

With an expected late 2012 release, Hopscotch/eOne are releasing the film in Australia while Lionsgate will be distributing the film in the US.  Hopscotch Features’ Troy Lum (Executive Producer) said “Our rewarding production partnership with Lakeshore continues to develop as I, FRANKENSTEIN begins shooting in Victoria. It’s fantastic that the second film from Hopscotch Features to go into production is such an exciting project, and we are delighted to be working with the Lakeshore team on home soil here in Australia”.

Eckhart in Australia

Aaron Eckhart has touched down in Australia, according to reports.

The American actor, whose I, Frankenstein is set for filming Down Under was spotted taking in the sights of Melbourne, News Ltd papers report.

I, Frankenstein is a thriller about supernatural creatures who seek world domination, according to movie database website imdb.com.

Due to start filming next month, the film also stars Aussies Yvonne Strahovski and Mirando Otto.

Eckhart starred in The Dark Knight and more recently Rabbit Hole with Nicole Kidman.
