There are precious few actresses with the acting and action chops to stand up to big boys Robert De Niro and Jason Statham. Yvonne Strahovski is one of them. Playing a farm girl who gets caught up in a web of violence in Killer Elite, she adds some much-needed sexiness to an otherwise testosterone-heavy movie. Yvonne, who left Australia to play a dorky spy’s CIA contact in TV show Chuck, has more than just looks and talent. Just check out her three-in-one parody of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha on the College Humor comedy website to witness the dazzling, down-to-earth Aussie’s (literally - she’s from Sydney’s beachside suburb Maroubra) sick sense of humour.

Killer Elite:

In the film, Strahovski plays Anne Frazier, an Australian woman who falls in love with a mercenary named Danny Bryce (Statham). The two meet after Danny retires from his gig as an assassin, but they become separated when he is drawn back to the game to save his mentor Hunter (Robert De Niro) from Middle Eastern captors. As Danny and his team eliminate their targets to secure Hunter’s release, they draw the attention of ex-British special agents and may put their loved ones – including Anne – in harm’s way.

Killer Elite Blu-ray Release Date and Details

"Killer Elite, which co-stars Dominic Purcell, Yvonne Strahovski, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Aden Young and Ben Mendelsohn, was released theatrically by Open Road Films on September 23, 2011. It made a hair over $25 million, far shy of the film's $70 million production budget.

Universal is including an UltraViolet digital copy out on the cloud with Killer Elite on Blu-ray, along with the DVD edition and deleted/extended scenes. The feature will be presented in 2.4:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio."

Strahovski explained, “I was very, very excited when I found out he was joining the cast. His first day of work was with me when we shot that scene. I knew I was going to be super excited about it, so I wanted to meet him the day before, which I ended up doing. It was nice because I got over the initial nerves. On the day, I couldn't wipe the grin off. It was so amazing to be with somebody so legendary and watch him work.”

Now, there’s a real change of pace with Danny’s relationship with Anne (Yvonne), where the whole background get’s erased for that relationship. Do you think that she would have had to have found out eventually? Do you think he could of, in an ideal world, could he have kept it a secret?

Yeah! Yeah… (nods), but it didn’t stay in the movie. Yeah, she found a thing in the trees where he used to go to throw knives and she started asking questions and it was a really great scene. It was in the rain in Australia, in the forest and she was crying and it was just… It was a great scene for us. One of the great ones… But it just took away from the pacing of the film and it’s sad to see it go, because it was such a brilliant scene for Yvonne… A brilliant piece of drama for her, and for me too…
