TV's Toughest Ladies

Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski), Chuck

No question: The blonde bombshell is the sexiest super agent since Jennifer Garner. Though Sarah can be warm and kind, there's a ruthless killer just waiting to be unleashed. What's worse for her targets is that her many sexy costumes — Princess Leia! — leave you slack-jawed so you won't even realize there's a giant knife barely concealed under that slit in her dress. At least most of her kills probably died with smiles on their faces.

Monster movie OK as morons attack

FILMING of the Hollywood thriller I, Frankenstein resumed yesterday, after the mess left by a mob of destructive hooligans was cleaned up.

On Sunday at 1am, hooligans barged in and trashed the set. Police are investigating the destructive rampage, which saw the movie's mock graveyard sustain serious damage. For the past six weeks Park Orchards has been home to the multi-million-dollar blockbuster, starring Aaron Eckhart, Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda Otto, with major scenes shot there last week.

Production cleared up the mess on Monday, and returned to film pick-up scenes at the eastern suburbs set yesterday.

Security has now been beefed up on site, while the main production unit has moved to another location. The blockbuster will employ 500 cast and crew.

5 Famous Bathing Suit Scenes from TV Shows: CHUCK, LOST, GLEE

Who: Yvonne Strahovski as Sarah Walker
Show: Chuck, NBC
The Suit: It’s a white bikini with a triangle top and gold metal circles.
What happens: Typically suited to get the attention of a mainly male demographic, seeing Sarah emerge from the water in slow motion is a perfect movie moment that makes us have some body envy. It’s so freaking glamorous, she’s even wearing large gold earrings in the pool.

Top 5 Alpha Females: Kinsale’s Melanthe, Chuck’s Sarah Walker,

5. Sarah Walker from NBC’s Chuck

When a hapless retail employee recovering from a disastrous breakup accidentally downloads all of the United States’ secrets, a high-ranking CIA agent is called in to assess the damage. Only in Chuck’s case, the emotionally reserved, butt-kicking superspy is Sarah Walker, and it is the lovelorn nerd Chuck Bartowski who must be rescued. However, the lovely reversal of gender roles is only half the fun of this romantic pairing. Watching Sarah evolve through five seasons from the icy government handler in charge of guarding Chuck to the complex, compassionate woman in love with Chuck (and who can still swoop in and save the day, guns blazing) is one of the central plotlines of the show.

Yvonne Strahovski as Black Canary (Dinah Lance)

Casting Call: Birds of Prey

Yvonne Strahovski as Black Canary (Dinah Lance)

Blonde, beautiful, and worthy of an action-packed role, Yvonne has already proven she's got the acting chops and physicality to play Dinah. It doesn't help that she's drop-dead gorgeous. It's her facial expressions that really clued me in, she always seems to be pondering her next move, the way I would imagine Dinah would do.

From rogue spies to free agents

YVONNE STRAHOVSKI (SARAH)

AFTER honing her craft in the Australian TV industry, Strahovski, 29, landed the plum role of Sarah – something of a cross between Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider and Maggie Q in Nikita.

On her vision for Sarah in season five, she says: “I would like to see her have a successful married life and find a happy balance between that and the spy world. We will see how everything goes with this new company that they have opened up, and with Morgan having the Intersect – that’s going to be a wild ride.”

As for the domino effect this development will have on their respective roles, she explains: “It’s going to be different taking care of Morgan with the Intersect than it was with Chuck – he has to become a full spy now. I think she is embracing the fact that he is coming into his own. But there will be a lot of marital spats with Morgan in the middle.”

That Sarah has transformed from the first instalment goes without saying: “I would love to see her skydive, or rock climb. Basically, see her do some really crazy stunts.”

What is Strahovski’s ideal ending for this season?

“I think we probably have to end it with her getting pregnant with triplets or something. I guess it is all a bit emotional. But it’s comforting to know that our fans will follow us wherever we go now as actors – we hope they follow us.”
