The Third Birthday Revisited On The Vita – Under The Radar Review
From a story perspective, you have everything the original Parasite Eve games had, with the addition of voice acting. The 3rd Birthday, for the most part, is translated well from the original Japanese script, so conversations aren’t broken and make sense. Yvonne Strahovski (who also portrays Miranda Lawson in the Mass Effect series) does a good job with the script she’s handed. Unfortunately, the Aya Brea portrayed in The 3rd Birthday isn’t as strong of a character as the previous games. In the originalParasite Eve, Aya was a rookie NYPD cop who chased down ten-foot-tall monsters while waving a badge and a gun, whereas in The 3rd Birthday she seems more meek, fragile and soft spoken. While the reason behind this is explained later in the story and is in part due to her memory loss, it doesn’t feel like the Aya that we all grew up with in the late 90s.

The exhibition features images of some of Australia’s best known performers, including Paul Capsis, Linda Cropper, David Field, Sandy Gore, Victoria Haralabidou, Lisa Hensley, iOTA, Olivia Stambouliah (his sister), Yvonne Strahovski and Damian Walshe-Howling.

I, Frankenstein begins shooting Monday
Graphic novel turned feature film I, Frankenstein will begin shooting in February, it was announced today.Adapted for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie (Tomorrow When the War Began, Pirates of the Caribbean), I, Frankenstein will be shot in Melbourne over a ten week period from Monday February 27.The film was due to begin in January.Key cast include Aaron Eckhart (The Dark knight, Thank You for Smoking), Bill Nighy (Underworld, Love Actually), Miranda Otto (Lord of the Rings), Yvonne Strahovski (Killer Elite, I love You Too) and Socratis Otto (X-Men Origins: Wolverine).The film is expecting a late 2012 release as a collaboration between Lakeshore Entertainment and Hopscotch Features. In Australia it will be released by Hopscotch/eOne. Hopscotch’s Troy Lum, the film’s executive producer said: “Our rewarding production partnership with Lakeshore continues to develop as I, FRANKENSTEIN begins shooting in Victoria. It’s fantastic that the second film from Hopscotch Features to go into production is such an exciting project, and we are delighted to be working with the Lakeshore team on home soil here in Australia”.The film will be distributed in the US by Lionsgate.I, Frankenstein is based on a graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux, author of Underworld, which has also seen a film franchise.

1. Yvonne Strahovski — what can I say…I’m a Chuck fanboy! Australia…you’ve done it once again! Bravo! The daughter of Polish immigrants was relatively new to acting when she moved to Los Angeles, and three days later got the role of Sarah Walker, on Chuck! Has the cutest little buck teeth that lets us know she’s only human. But I’m not buying it! Now that Chuck has ended, it looks like her career will only get stronger. Might be seeing her more on the big screen than television. Currently filming, I, Frankenstein. Side note: Ironically she moved her parents to California to be closer to them, and now her current film is shooting in Australia.

Eckhart in Australia
Aaron Eckhart has touched down in Australia, according to reports.The American actor, whose I, Frankenstein is set for filming Down Under was spotted taking in the sights of Melbourne, News Ltd papers report.I, Frankenstein is a thriller about supernatural creatures who seek world domination, according to movie database website imdb.com.Due to start filming next month, the film also stars Aussies Yvonne Strahovski and Mirando Otto.Eckhart starred in The Dark Knight and more recently Rabbit Hole with Nicole Kidman.
